In Thanksgiving

I love the Lord because He has heard my voice in supplication,

Marvel fun

Michael and I watched Iron Man, the first movie, tonight.  It was really lots of fun and the special effects blew my mind.

The action was really lots of fun.  I always enjoyed the old original Iron Man comics
 

and I have all of the WAR machine comics too.

 Go Rhoddy!!  Now we have to see Iron Man II.

Gov cut backs again, save npr and pbs

Subject: Save NPR and PBS (Again)

Hi,

 The Republican just released their budget proposal, and it zeroes
out funding for both NPR and PBS–the worst proposal in more than a
decade. We need to tell Republicans that cutting off funding was
unacceptable last time they were in charge, and it’s unacceptable now.

Craft Dump

I have recently completed a few crafts so before I put them up on my art site I will record them here.
1.  First double knit on a loom .  Got looms nad yarn for xmas and made this scarf:

2. Second double knit on knifty knitter, yellow loom.  Yard sale yarn to make a table runner:

3. Woven bag.  Wove using old untwisted pink yarn and a metal potholder loom from the book “the woven bag” by Noreen Crone-Findlay.  The handle was made using two pegs on a knifty knitter tube loom.

4. I made a couple of flannel slips out of pajama scraps.. I made a six gore pattern for the first one this is the second I used the six gore pattern for the top and added layers below it to make it the right length.  the ruffle is patched together with small rectangles nad the edge is pinked to make it ragged.  Go Shabby Chic!

5. An the newest craft for me is english paper piecing.  It is a patchwork quilting type of craft.  I use the collars from some nightgowns I had just removed.  They were bothering my neck at night.  They are flannel too.

Rejected!!

I went to the public library tonight to see if I could get in on the Anime on the Edge meeting. Well I was not allowed because I’m over 24 and the meeting was for 18-24 year olds.  So I was directed to Adult services so I could request a program for us oldsters and when I asked the lady at the desk she gave me a look.  What a look!, like I had two heads and a tail.  She said she has never had a request for an adult anime group and does;’t think it is needed and I said there probably are more people than she thinks interested just they haven’t bothered to ask.  OH WELL.  I guess I’m SOL on this one.

Steampunk jacket

I crocheted this set of cogs a few months ago and I finally got a chance to put them on a jacket I found at a thrift/yard sale over the summer.

I just have to replace the plain brown buttons with gold tone buttons and it will snap even more.

What a day

So I went to the Chiropractor with my parents this morning, my mother drove.  Livia said my neck was very bad and she said to notexercise today and use a lot of moist heat.  My mother was adjusted too and then had trigger therapy.  The ride home was dreadful though.   I was so car sick by the time we got home I had to sit still and have a cup of chamomile tea.

Marina has done nothing but whine at me all day too.  Good grief!

So my head and neck still hurt but not as bad and not the same way as over the weekend and I’m supposed to go again tomorrow to the chiro .  Hopefully I’ll start healing quickly.
